Pitfalls
Common mistakes to avoid
3 classic mistakes:
Forgetting ǎUn má ɖù — incomplete, no negation
má aloneWithout the final ǎ = incorrect sentence
Reversed orderǎ má = never in Fon
Tip
Think « má opens / ǎ closes ». The two always go together, framing the verb. Like a negative parenthesis around it (French « ne… pas » works the same way).
One single structure
má…ǎ = the negation formula in Fon. Memorize it and you’ll negate any verb correctly.
